Is there a ballot for AIG Women's Open tickets?

No. This is one of the events people most often assume runs a lottery, because the men's Open Championship does exactly that: The Open runs a genuine free ballot with an application window and a draw. The AIG Women's Open, run by the same organisation, does not. It puts tickets on general sale and sells them until they are gone.

That difference matters, because the two events are a month apart and share a name. If you applied to something and are waiting to hear, you applied to The Open, not the Women's Open. Our Open 2027 guide covers that ballot and its results waves.

What happened to the 2026 tickets?

They sold out, and quickly. On 20 July 2026 all nine ticket options on the official page were still on sale. By 28 July, the day before the championship started, every category read Sold Out, and it still did on 29 July. The official page publishes no gate sale, no on-the-day allocation and no waiting list.

The face values, for reference and for judging any resale price you are shown:

• Practice day (Wednesday 29 July): GBP 27.50 adult
• Championship days 1 and 2 (Thursday and Friday): GBP 47.50 adult
• Championship days 3 and 4 (Saturday and Sunday): GBP 52.50 adult
• Youth: half price, with under-16s free alongside a paying adult

The 2026 championship runs to Sunday 2 August at Royal Lytham & St Annes.

Is there any official route in now?

Not for general admission. Once a first come, first served sale is exhausted there is no draw to fall back on, and this championship publishes no official face-value resale platform of the kind Wimbledon, Glasgow 2026 and the Olympics run. Hospitality is the only thing the official site still takes enquiries for, and that is a premium package rather than a ticket at face value.

How do I get AIG Women's Open 2027 tickets?

The 2027 championship moves to Royal St George's in Sandwich, Kent, from 28 July to 1 August 2027. Tickets are not on sale yet, and no on-sale date has been announced. That last point was checked on the official 2027 page on 20 July 2026, rather than on the 2026 ticket page we re-read on 29 July, so treat it as accurate to 20 July and check the official site before assuming nothing has moved.

Because this is a sale rather than a ballot, being early beats being lucky. Two things are worth doing:

1. Register interest free on the official site. It costs nothing and it is how the on-sale announcement reaches you first. It is not an entry into anything and it does not reserve a ticket.
2. Treat the on-sale date as the event. The 2026 sell-out happened inside nine days at the end, and the sale had been open for months before that. Buying in the first week of a sale is the whole strategy here.

• The Masters 2027: a free application lottery, applications closed 20 June 2026 and results went out on 23 July 2026, with payment due by 7 August.
