Privacy policy

The short version

The Ticket Lottery is an informational site. You can use everything on it, including the ballot calendar, without creating an account or giving us any personal information. We do not run advertising trackers and we do not sell data.

We are based in Israel and the site is served worldwide, including to visitors in the United States, the United Kingdom and the European Union, through hosting infrastructure located in the United States and Europe. The same minimal-collection approach applies wherever you are.

What we collect

• Server logs. Like almost every website, our hosting infrastructure records basic technical data about requests (such as IP address, browser type and the page requested) for security, abuse prevention and keeping the site running. These logs are kept by our hosting provider for a limited period and are not used to profile you.
• Calendar subscriptions. If you subscribe to our ballot calendar, your calendar app periodically fetches a file from our server. That is a normal web request; we do not learn who you are, and we keep no subscriber list.
• Email you send us. If you write to us (for example with a correction), we keep the correspondence so we can reply and fix things.

Email alerts, if you opt in

The site offers free email alerts about ballot windows. Signing up is double opt-in: when you enter your address we send a confirmation email, and no alerts go out unless you click the confirmation link in it.

If you sign up, we store the email address you provide, the events you chose to follow, and the timestamps of your signup and confirmation. We use that data only to send the alerts you asked for.

Two processors handle this on our behalf: Resend (United States) sends the emails, and Supabase (European Union, eu-central-1 region) stores the subscriber list. Neither uses your address for anything else.

Every email we send carries a one-click unsubscribe (RFC 8058) as well as an unsubscribe link in the message itself. Unsubscribing ends all future sends. To have your address deleted entirely, email hello@theticketlottery.com and we will remove it.

Analytics

We use Vercel Web Analytics to understand aggregate traffic: how many people visit, which pages are popular, and roughly where visitors come from (country and referring site). It is privacy-respecting by design: it sets no cookies, does not track you across sites, and does not collect or store information that identifies you personally. Cookies

The site sets no advertising cookies and no cross-site tracking cookies. Our analytics (above) is cookieless. If we ever introduce anything that relies on cookies, we will describe it here first.

Third-party sites

Event pages link to official ticketing sites (for example wimbledon.com or masters.com). Those sites have their own privacy policies; what you do there is between you and them.

Your rights

Given how little we collect, the fastest route for any request is emailing hello@theticketlottery.com. Formally:

• European Union and United Kingdom (GDPR / UK GDPR). You have the rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction, data portability and objection, and the right to lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority. Where we process anything at all, we rely on legitimate interest (running and securing the site) or your consent (if you opt in to email alerts).
• California (CCPA/CPRA). You have the right to know, correct and delete personal information, and the right not to be discriminated against for exercising those rights. We do not sell or share personal information as those terms are defined in the CCPA.
• Everywhere else. Write to us and we will extend the same treatment: tell us what to show you, fix or delete, and we will.

Changes

If our practices change (for example if we add a new processor), we will update this page and change the date at the top. See also our terms of use.
