The public ballot ran from 10:00 on 2 Sept 2026 and closed at midnight on 29 Sept 2026, with winners contacted on 30 Sept 2026 and able to buy from 10:00 on 1 Oct 2026 in their assigned slot within the ECB's first purchase window. General sale for anything left opens 10:00 on 14 Oct 2026. Members and Priority Club holders were served before the ballot closed.

Edgbaston reported the ballot passed 100,000 entries within a week of opening (over 50,000 in the first 24 hours alone), but has not published how many tickets are available through it, so no success rate can be derived. The paid routes (membership, GBP 50 Priority Club, and buying the September 2026 Pakistan Test) all buy access ahead of the ballot closing, so the free ballot draws from what is left after them.
