The guide
How do I get Cricket World Cup 2027 tickets?
The ICC's ticket ballot for the Men's Cricket World Cup 2027 is free to enter and runs from 1 October to 23:59 SAST on 21 November 2026 at tickets.cricketworldcup.com. You pick the matches you want, up to four tickets each, and a random draw decides who can buy wherever a match has more requests than seats. Nothing is paid until you are offered tickets.
This is the first Men's World Cup in Africa since 2003, and the ICC is pitching it on price: entry-level tickets start at about USD 9.50 and the most expensive tier is about USD 30. That puts the pressure on the handful of fixtures everyone wants, which is exactly what the ballot is for.

How the ballot works
- Register on the ICC's ballot site, tickets.cricketworldcup.com.
- Choose your matches. Each match is a separate entry, and you can enter for as many as you like.
- For each match, request up to four tickets and pick your preferred ticket category.
- Submit before 23:59 SAST on 21 November 2026. Timing does not matter inside the window: the ballot is not first come, first served.
- Wait for the email. Where a match is oversubscribed, a randomised draw picks who can buy. Successful entrants get a set window to pay for the tickets made available to them.
Where a match is not oversubscribed, registered fans get access to buy, and remaining tickets may go into later sales phases. Entering the ballot does not guarantee tickets.
What tickets cost
The ICC gives a range of about USD 9.50 (R158) for entry-level tickets up to about USD 30 (R514) for the highest-tier matches, with the exact price depending on exchange rates. It also lists family bundles, student and pensioner pricing, early-bird local allocations, and community club and school group pricing.
Which matches will be hardest to get
The ICC has not published allocation sizes or how many entries each match receives, so there are no official odds. The schedule makes the pressure points clear, though: India v Pakistan at the Wanderers in Johannesburg on 10 October 2027, the opening-weekend Australia v India in Cape Town, both semi-finals and the final. Smaller group games in Zimbabwe and Namibia are far less likely to be oversubscribed. If you want to be sure of seeing a World Cup match, add one or two of those alongside the marquee games, since each match is a separate entry.
Where the matches are
Twelve venues across three countries:
- South Africa (8): Johannesburg, Tshwane, Cape Town, Durban, Gqeberha, Bloemfontein, Paarl and KuGompo City
- Zimbabwe (3): Harare, Bulawayo and Victoria Falls, where Zimbabwe host India in Match 33
- Namibia (1): Windhoek
The groups: India, Australia, Pakistan, Afghanistan, Zimbabwe and Qualifier A in Group A; New Zealand, South Africa, Sri Lanka, England and Bangladesh with Qualifier B in Group B. A Super Sevens stage then decides the semi-finalists.
Avoid paying more than you need to
The ballot is the ICC's own route and costs nothing to enter. Travel and hospitality sites advertising World Cup tickets now are selling packages the ICC has not confirmed, and resale listings appearing before the ballot has even closed are not tickets the ICC has issued. Enter the free ballot first, and treat anything else as a backup.
