The 2027 drawing is not open.

The official NYRR drawing page still describes only the 2026 cycle (applications 4 Feb 2026 to 25 Feb 2026, drawing 4 Mar 2026, three residency pools plus an NYRR member-only second-chance drawing) and publishes nothing for 2027, per the check on 24 Aug 2026. On that pattern, 2027 applications would fall around February 2027 with the drawing in early March 2027; NYRR has not confirmed either.

How to enter

Apply online with an NYRR account during the drawing application window at nyrr.org (2027 dates TBA; 2026 window ran Feb 4-25 with the drawing on Mar 4). Card is charged the full entry fee automatically upon acceptance. 2026 cycle: record 240,000+ applicants from more than 160 countries (near-20 percent increase from 2025); NYRR press release of 4 Mar 2026 states 'only about one percent of applicants accepted'. The 2025 race set a world record as the largest marathon ever with 59,226 finishers

Good to know

The guaranteed route for 2027 has to be earned during 2026, before the drawing even opens. NYRR's 9+1 program (nine qualifying NYRR races plus one volunteer day inside a calendar year) grants entry to the following year's marathon, so a decision about the 2027 race is really a decision about your 2026 racing calendar.
A qualifying time is not automatically a place. In the 2026 cycle only the top 10 percent of time qualifiers from non-NYRR marathons were accepted, so a fast time run elsewhere still leaves you competing for a capped allocation.
Expect a virtual waiting room rather than an error page. nyrr.org sits behind a queue system at busy moments, so a holding page when the application window opens is the site working normally, not a problem at your end.
