No public ballot exists.

Entry to the 2027 Boston Marathon is by qualifying time only, and the B.A.A. publishes an exact Registration Week: 14 Sept 2026 to 18 Sept 2026, with applications accepted until 17:00 ET on Friday 18 Sept 2026 through its Athletes' Village platform. Meeting the qualifying standard does not guarantee entry: after the standard-qualifier field is filled the B.A.A. randomly selects roughly 1,000 further qualifiers whose times fell below the competitive cut-off, but that draw is open only to runners who already hold a qualifying time, not to the public. Race day 19 Apr 2027.

Run a qualifying time, then submit a registration application at baa.org during Registration Week, 14 Sept 2026 to 18 Sept 2026, in the B.A.A.'s Athletes' Village platform; applications close at 17:00 ET on Friday 18 Sept 2026. Registration is not first-come, first-served: the fastest qualifiers within each age/gender group are accepted until the field fills. Charity program is the main non-qualifying route

The qualifying window opened 13 Sept 2025 and the B.A.A. publishes no separate closing time for it; its 16 Jun 2025 registration-update release says the window stays open through Registration Week, so the operative deadline is the 17:00 ET 18 Sept 2026 application cut-off. An earlier note here put that cut-off at approximately 12 Sept 2026 17:00 ET; no official page supports that date, so it has been removed.

Race date 19 Apr 2027 confirmed on baa.org. The 2027 entry fee is still not published.
