What are the confirmed 2026 US Open dates?

All of these come from the official ticket page, checked on 3 August 2026:

• Fan Week, including Arthur Ashe Kids' Day: 23 to 26 August 2026
• US Open Mixed Doubles Championship: 25 and 26 August 2026
• Stars of the Open: 27 August 2026
• Singles main draw, day sessions: 30 August to 13 September 2026
• Evening sessions: 30 August to 11 September 2026
• Women's singles final: Saturday 12 September 2026, with the tournament's final day on Sunday 13 September

Fan Week matters more than most people expect. It is the part of the fortnight where qualifying and practice happen, the crowds are thinner, and the ticket prices sit well below the main draw.

How do US Open tickets actually go on sale?

The 2026 cycle ran in three steps, and the pattern is worth knowing for 2027. An American Express cardmember presale ran from Tuesday 26 May 2026 at 09:00 ET to Wednesday 27 May at 23:59 ET. USTA members had their own presale windows. The general public on-sale then opened on Thursday 28 May 2026 at 12:00 ET through Ticketmaster. The USTA noted at the time that this on-sale was earlier in the year than in previous cycles.

None of those steps is a ballot. A presale is access to buy sooner, not a draw for a place, so nobody is picked at random and nothing is allocated by luck. If you are planning for 2027, the useful move is not an application: it is knowing roughly when the on-sale lands and being at the keyboard for it.

Which US Open ticket actually gets you what?

The sessions are sold by stadium, and the difference is real rather than cosmetic:

• Arthur Ashe Stadium, day or evening: an assigned seat in the main stadium, plus first-come access to Louis Armstrong Stadium, the Grandstand and all field courts. Day sessions run 30 August to 13 September, evenings to 11 September.
• Louis Armstrong Stadium: an assigned seat there, plus first-come access to the Grandstand and field courts. Sold only for the first nine days (to 7 September), and only the first seven evenings (to 5 September).
• Grandstand: an assigned Grandstand seat plus first-come access to Louis Armstrong and the field courts, sold only for the first seven days, to 5 September.
• Grounds Admission: first-come access to Louis Armstrong, the Grandstand and every field court, with no Arthur Ashe access at all. Sold 30 August to 8 September.

Grounds Admission is the cheapest official way in, and in the first week it is genuinely good tennis: the field courts run full matches with the seeds on them. The US Open publishes prices per session on its ticket pages rather than a single headline figure, and we do not repeat the per-session numbers that circulate in the press, because they are not USTA-published.

Is there a US Open 2027 ballot?

No, and none has been announced. The USTA has published no 2027 on-sale dates. If the 2026 pattern repeats, expect the presales and public on-sale around late May 2027, but treat that as our estimate from the prior cycle rather than anything the USTA has said. What about the US Open Sweepstakes?

The "US Open Sweepstakes presented by Chase" that appears on usopen.org is a marketing prize giveaway, not a ticket ballot. It is easy to mistake for one because both involve entering and being drawn, but a ballot is a free, official route to buy tickets at face value, and a sweepstakes is a promotion giving away a prize. Neither the sweepstakes nor any presale is a substitute for the on-sale.

How do I avoid getting burned on resale?

Use the Official Ticket Marketplace powered by Ticketmaster and nothing else. The usopen.org ticket page is unusually direct about this: it asks fans to use caution with third-party brokers and marketplaces, and states that Ticketmaster's marketplace is the only secondary site where purchases are authenticated and verified. As of 3 August 2026 the page says that marketplace "will be enabled in the coming months," so for the 2026 event it is worth checking back rather than assuming resale is live yet.
