How do I get Rugby World Cup 2027 tickets?
There is no longer a Rugby World Cup 2027 ticket ballot to enter: the application phase closed on 2 June 2026 and its results went out from 23 June. The next chance for everyone is the first-come-first-served public sale opening 1 October 2026 at tickets.rugbyworldcup.com, and the only preparation that matters is having a free account ready before that day.

What happened to the RWC 2027 ballot?
The application phase ran 19 May to 2 June 2026 on the official ticketing site. Where a price category for a match was oversubscribed, a random ballot decided who got tickets; every application had an equal chance regardless of when it was submitted. Outcome emails went out from 23 June 2026, successful applicants were charged automatically, and allocations that went unpaid after the final payment retry (reported as 7 July) were released back into the pool.
When is the next chance to buy tickets?
1 October 2026, first-come-first-served, at tickets.rugbyworldcup.com. This is a straight sale, not a draw: speed matters this time. World Rugby has said the February 2026 presale was record-breaking, so expect the biggest matches (the Final, Australia and New Zealand pool games) to go extremely fast. How do I get ready for 1 October?

Before the day, decide your target matches and fallback options: with 52 matches across seven Australian cities (Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Perth, Adelaide, Newcastle, Townsville) from 1 October to 13 November 2027, there is real choice beyond the marquee fixtures. Over 2.5 million tickets exist in total, a million of them priced AUD$100 or less, so missing the Final does not mean missing the tournament.
What do tickets cost?
Application-phase pricing (including GST): adult pool matches AUD$40 to $635 with children's tickets from AUD$20, semi-finals up to AUD$1,200, and the Final between AUD$175 and $1,950. The official ticketing document states those prices applied to the presale and application phases only, and that pricing for later phases will be published before each phase opens, so treat the October numbers as to-be-confirmed until World Rugby publishes them.
Is there any other official route right now?
Two. Ticket-inclusive hospitality and travel packages are on sale now through Rugby World Cup Experiences, at a significant premium over face value. And an official resale platform for buying, selling, and transferring tickets between fans is confirmed to launch closer to the tournament. World Rugby warns plainly that tickets bought on unauthorised platforms will be cancelled, so the resale platform is the only safe secondary route.
