The free Ticket Oosumo lottery ran 11:00 JST 30 Jul 2026 to 23:00 JST 2 Aug 2026, its results and the Ticket Pia pre-reserve lottery (entries 4 Aug 2026 to 08-05) concluded by 7 Aug 2026, and the general sale that opened 10:00 JST 8 Aug 2026 is sold out (sumo.pia.jp marks it '完売御礼', sold out, with no seats left in any date or seat type from the lottery-era sales). Wheelchair seat reservations remain a separate, unsold-out route: they open 10:00 JST on 24 Aug 2026 via the dedicated phone line (0570-02-9310), not through sumo.pia.jp. sumo.pia.jp also links its own official face-value resale service ('定価リセールサービス') as a legitimate route to remaining or returned tickets.

Register free at sumo.pia.jp; submit an online lottery entry during the window for chosen day(s)/seat type (priority-ranked or multiple-win); random draw; results by MyPage/email ~18:00 JST; card charged automatically between close and results. For Tokyo tournaments the exact seat number stays hidden until ticket issuance.

Your odds

No official odds published; fully random draw. Weekend and final-weekend days heavily oversubscribed; recent tournaments (including July 2026) sold out entirely, so lottery is the realistic route for prime days.

Good to know

• This free draw is one rung of a ladder, not the only chance. Two paid Fan Club rounds run before it, and a separate Ticket Pia pre-reserve draw and then the general sale come after it, so missing this window is not the end of the road.
• The lottery exists only on the Japanese-language site. The official English site is first come, first served from the general sale date, adds a JPY 2,000 per ticket fee, and issues tickets for pickup at 7-Eleven stores inside Japan.
• A win is not something you accept. The card on file is charged automatically between the close and the results, so apply only for days and seat types you actually want.
