Both Fan Club rounds for this tournament ran in July 2026: round 1 from 18 Jul 2026 to 21 Jul 2026 (Yokozuna, Ozeki and Sekiwake courses), and round 2 from 24 Jul 2026 to 27 Jul 2026 (adding Komusubi and Makuuchi), with the round 2 payment deadline at 23:30 JST on 31 Jul 2026. The free Ticket Oosumo lottery (30 Jul 2026 to 2 Aug 2026) and the Ticket Pia pre-reserve lottery (4 Aug 2026 to 5 Aug 2026) followed, and the general sale that opened 10:00 JST 8 Aug 2026 sold out: sumo.pia.jp marks it '完売御礼' (sold out).

How to enter

The Fan Club rounds for the September 2026 tournament (Aki Basho) ran 18 Jul 2026 to 27 Jul 2026. Every basho runs the same way: a paid Fan Club course at fanclub.sumo.or.jp (Yokozuna, Ozeki or Sekiwake for round 1; Komusubi and Makuuchi added in round 2), an online application during the round window, a random draw, results about 18:00 JST on results day, and payment due about two days later by 23:30 JST. The Ticket Oosumo account and the Fan Club account must be registered with the same email address.

No official odds published. This is the earliest crack at tickets (before the free Ticket Oosumo lottery), including tamari seats; higher tiers get the exclusive 1st round.

Good to know

• Applying costs nothing, but being allowed to apply is not free. Only the paid Fan Club courses can enter a ticket lottery and the free Juryo tier cannot, so the real price of this route is the annual membership.
• The two rounds are not the same draw. Round 1 is exclusive to the Yokozuna, Ozeki and Sekiwake courses, and only round 2 adds Komusubi and Makuuchi, so the cheaper tiers get one attempt where the top tiers get two.
• It is a Japanese-language service throughout. Anyone may join the paid tiers from overseas, but the membership and application flow are not offered in English.
