General first-come sale runs from 30 Jun 2026 17:00 JST until each session's own date, with no lottery at any stage: the official ticket site states 'All tickets are sold on a first-come, first-served basis (no lottery sales)'. A free Supporter ID (Ouen-ID), open worldwide since 20 Oct 2025, is required to buy on the official site; the authorised play guides Ticket Pia, TBS Tickets and CBC Ticket Center sell a partial subset of sports through their own free memberships and their own sale end times.
Sold-out sessions are labelled 'Currently Unavailable' rather than 'Sold Out', a wording change made 14 Jul 2026, and inventory has come back more than once: additional ticket sales for selected sessions were announced 4 Aug 2026 and 18 Aug 2026, and an official ticket resale service launched 4 Aug 2026 with some competitions excluded from it. Three late routes have opened in the run-up: the 'Asian Q Ticket' and 'Asian Para Q Ticket' services and discounted 'After 4 Tickets' (all announced 18 Aug 2026), an Aichi-Nagoya 2026 City Ticket Office and other in-person sales locations (2 Sept 2026), and same-day ticket sales (2 Sept 2026).
Convenience store payment was discontinued on the official ticket site on 1 Sept 2026. Matchups for the team sports were set at the 23 Jul 2026 draw, and the competition schedule was revised 29 Jul 2026 and again 19 Aug 2026.
Group bookings (20 or more tickets) are limited to corporations and organisations with a Japanese office and bank account, paid in advance by invoice; the Asian Games deadline was 10 Aug 2026 and the Asian Para Games deadline is 10 Sept 2026, both stated as tentative by the organiser. The official site warns that tickets bought through unofficial channels will not be accepted for entry.

The authorised alternatives are Ticket Pia, TBS Tickets and the CBC Ticket Center, each needing its own free membership and each carrying only some sports. Seats are banded AA, A, B, C and D by sport and venue. Discounted child tickets cover ages 3 to 14 on the day at the lowest seat category, with the rule that an accompanying person aged 15 or over must buy a general ticket in that same lowest category; under-3s are free on a lap and need a ticket only for their own seat. Discounted tickets for holders of a valid disability certificate plus one companion, and separate wheelchair tickets admitting a wheelchair user and one companion, are also set at the lowest seat category. E-tickets (screen or PDF) run the whole period; commemorative original paper tickets were advance-sales only and post to the Supporter ID address.
