# How do I get Ashes 2027 tickets?

The free route to Ashes 2027 tickets is the ECB ballot, which opens at 10:00 on Wednesday 2 September 2026 and closes at 23:59 on Tuesday 29 September 2026. Entering costs nothing and you pay face value only if you are drawn. The ECB publishes those as universal ballot dates for every England home international of 2027, and attaches one caveat worth reading twice: some host counties and venues will run alternative ballot dates, so the ground's own page is the final word for that Test. Two have done exactly that: Lord's own ballot closes on 26 October 2026 and the Kia Oval's on 15 November 2026.

Five grounds host the men's Ashes in England in 2027: Trent Bridge, Lord's, Edgbaston, the Utilita Bowl and the Kia Oval. What follows the ballot is already dated too. ## When does the Ashes 2027 ballot open and close?

The ECB's published key dates for the 2027 home summer are these:

Read that middle line carefully, because it is the part most fans get wrong. County membership does not put you in a separate queue that skips the ballot; it gives you a priority window inside the same September period. The free We Are England Cricket Supporters sign-up works the same way, with its own priority window before the ballot results are known. Both change when you can buy, not whether you can enter.

The venue picture is uneven, and the ECB's caveat is why. Edgbaston publishes the full universal window as its own (10:00 on 2 September 2026 to midnight on 29 September 2026, general sale from 10:00 on 14 October). Trent Bridge's ballot opens the same day as the universal window, per the venue's own July announcement, with any remaining seats going to ballot winners from 6 October 2026; its ticket page has since dropped back to general priority-access wording for members and debenture holders without repeating the specific dates. The Utilita Bowl has said only that its member and Priority Club priority opens in September 2026, with a public ballot for what is left. Lord's and the Kia Oval both published their own dates on 2 September 2026, and both run later than the ECB: Lord's public ballot runs 2 September to 26 October 2026, with first-round winners buying from 17 November and general sale on 10 December 2026; the Kia Oval's ballot runs 2 September to 15 November 2026, with results on 23 November and the winners' purchase window from 24 November 2026. ## Which venues host the Ashes 2027?

This guide covers the men's Ashes in England, a five-Test series running from 18 June to 2 August 2027. The ECB confirmed the dates on 23 July 2026. Nottinghamshire members and debenture holders had early access through member windows on 3, 6 and 12 August 2026. The public ballot opens on 2 September 2026, and any remaining seats go to ballot winners from 6 October 2026. No closing date has been published, which is one reason to treat 2 September as the day to deal with this Test.

Lord's runs its own free public ticket ballot, 2 September to 26 October 2026, where you pick the match days you want; no card details are needed to enter, and the purchase limit is 2 tickets across the Ashes Test if you win. First-round winners are emailed in early November and buy from 17 November 2026; unclaimed tickets go to a second-round ballot before general sale on 10 December 2026. The separate MCC Members' Friends' Enclosures Ballot opens on 8 September 2026. MCC full membership has a waiting list of roughly 27 to 29 years, so it is not a realistic new route in.

A 2027 membership or the 50 pound Priority Club buys a window before the ballot closes.

The Oval closes the series, as it traditionally does, and its Tests are among the fastest selling.

One venue fans keep searching for is not on that list. **[Old Trafford](https://theticketlottery.com/ballots/the-ashes-2027-old-trafford-womens-ashes-it20-only)** in Manchester hosts no men's Ashes Test in 2027; the ECB's allocation gives Old Trafford and Headingley the 2031 men's Ashes instead. It does hold one Ashes 2027 fixture, the 3rd Women's Ashes IT20, England Women v Australia, on 9 July 2027, and Lancashire covers it in a free 2027 major match ballot running 2 to 29 September 2026, with a Red Rose Fan Club priority day on 13 October 2026 and general sale from 14 October 2026. Lancashire marks those dates subject to change. ## What do Ashes 2027 tickets cost?

Missing or losing a ballot is not the end. General sale of all remaining tickets starts at 10:00 on 14 October 2026, and that is an official, face-value route open to everyone. Ashes tickets are not transferable outside official channels, so any tout or resale listing is not a legitimate route, whatever it looks like, and such tickets can be cancelled at the gate. Ignore third-party listings showing Ashes dates in November 2027 to January 2028: those belong to Australia's home summer, not the England series, which runs across the June to August window. **Does Old Trafford host an Ashes 2027 Test?**
