## Where it stands

Free entry runs from 2026-03-01 to 23:59 ET on 2027-02-01, per the NCAA's official rules. One winner is drawn at random on or about 2027-02-02 and notified by email, phone or text. The prize is two tickets to the 2027 Men's Final Four in Detroit on 3 and 5 April 2027, two NCAA Fan Experience hospitality passes, a USD 750 Visa gift card and two admissions each to The Henry Ford and the Motown Museum. This is the free route into the same event whose paid application route (USD 25 fee, USD 400 a ticket) closed on 2026-05-31.

## How to enter

Complete the free entry form at https://cloud.mail2.ncaa.com/championships?pageID=MFF27_National_Sweepstakes_SFMC (linked from ncaatickets.com/championship/march-madness). One entry per person and per email address for the whole period, plus up to 25 extra entries for referrals through a shared link. Entries must be received by 23:59 ET on 2027-02-01. Automated or scripted entries are void.

## Your odds

Exactly one winner is drawn from the whole entry pool. The NCAA states only that odds depend on the number of eligible entries received and publishes no entry count, so a real win probability cannot be computed for this draw. The referral mechanic means entries are not one per person in practice: a single entrant can hold up to 26.

## Good to know

- One winner, one prize package. This is not a ticket allocation the way a Wimbledon or Ashes ballot is: the NCAA draws a single entrant for two tickets, so treat it as a free lottery ticket rather than as your plan for getting to Detroit.
- It is US-only. Entry is limited to residents of the 50 states and DC who are 18 or older, which rules out the international audience that most ballots on this site are open to.
- The referral mechanic changes the arithmetic. One person can hold up to 26 entries by sharing their link, so the pool is larger than the number of people in it, and the NCAA does not publish either figure.
- The paid route and the free route have different clocks. The USD 25 application closed on 2026-05-31 with results due by 2026-10-31, while this free draw runs until 2027-02-01 and is drawn on or about 2027-02-02, so missing the first one does not mean missing the event.
