## Where it stands

No public ballot exists. Entry to the 2027 Boston Marathon is by qualifying time only, and the B.A.A. publishes an exact Registration Week: 2026-09-14 to 2026-09-18, with applications accepted until 17:00 ET on Friday 2026-09-18 through its Athletes' Village platform. Meeting the qualifying standard does not guarantee entry: after the standard-qualifier field is filled the B.A.A. randomly selects roughly 1,000 further qualifiers whose times fell below the competitive cut-off, but that draw is open only to runners who already hold a qualifying time, not to the public. Race day 2027-04-19.

## How tickets actually work

Run a qualifying time, then submit a registration application at baa.org during Registration Week, 2026-09-14 to 2026-09-18, in the B.A.A.'s Athletes' Village platform; applications close at 17:00 ET on Friday 2026-09-18. Registration is not first-come, first-served: the fastest qualifiers within each age/gender group are accepted until the field fills. Charity program is the main non-qualifying route

No lottery: hitting the qualifying standard does not guarantee entry. A cut-off (running minutes faster than the standard) has been required in recent years and is widely expected again for 2027

Registration Week is published and exact, so nothing on this record is estimated: the B.A.A. qualify page states that Qualifier Registration for the 2027 Boston Marathon takes place 2026-09-14 to 2026-09-18 in Athletes' Village, with applications accepted until 17:00 ET on Friday 2026-09-18. The qualifying window opened 2025-09-13 and the B.A.A. publishes no separate closing time for it; its 2025-06-16 registration-update release says the window stays open through Registration Week, so the operative deadline is the 17:00 ET 2026-09-18 application cut-off. An earlier note here put that cut-off at approximately 2026-09-12 17:00 ET; no official page supports that date, so it has been removed. Race date 2027-04-19 confirmed on baa.org. The 2027 entry fee is still not published.
